General Course Outcomes
After this brief presentation, participants will understand how to structure and design a successful presentation. They will also learn valuable editing skills as well as tips to improve the graphics in their presentations.

Specific Learning Outcomes

  • Understand a basic presentation formatting structure and the importance of outlining or planning your presentation before creating slides.

  • Understand the importance of Slide Masters and how to use them.

  • Understand the basics of clear readable type and why bullets are not the first choice to communicate information.

  • Know how to properly choose and edit images, and do some basic retouching within PowerPoint.

  • How to make improve graphs and charts for readability and ease in editing.

  • How to use color and fonts to increase readability and improve the appearance of the presentation.

  • Understand basic PowerPoint animation options.

  • How to close your presentation.

By the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to:
Create a memorable and effective PowerPoint presentation. All participants will be given a checklist of things to consider before completing a presentation.

Please note that this course does not teach presentation skills.

General knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint 2011 or higher.
